Sneha Nivas community was started by Vice Provincial Sr. Teresina and her council for Social Work on 1st of June 2004. Those Sisters involved in the Social Work felt the need of starting a destitute home for the children wandering in the villages without education. Thus this home for destitute children came into existence with 24 children. The children go to different schools according to their ability of learning. Now there are 39 children studying L.K.G through 12th Std in different schools. All are from broken families. Sisters give them great attention and care. Many of these children study in our English medium School.
Sisters involve in Social work and pastoral activities. In the beginning our sisters worked under the diocesan social work programs. Later we began independent Social work Society called Baptistine Integrated Rural Development Society (BIRDS) and many programs for the upliftment of children, women and of society itself are taken up. A lot of people benefit by these programs. Children are very creative so they make the community and parish active and alive. Through our destitute home these children are given a future.
