Nazareth Bhavan is the Novitiate House of the Sisters of St. John the Baptist, India. Under the leadership of Sr. Teresina Kunnath and the Vice Provincial team the house was built and blessed on 10th August 2004. Sr. Brigit Mylaparambil, Sr. Alfonsa Maria T.M and Sr. Punitha Mary Alexis along with 6 first year Novices started living there. Since there was ample space, the Postulancy was also shifted from Old Madras Road, Indiranagar to Carmelaram in 2008. In April 2013the first floor of the building was blessed which provided enough facilities for the formees and sisters.
The aim of this house is to help the young women acquire a greater awareness of the call of God and to mature their faith response by means of real experiences of prayer, community and apostolic life. This formation house is the lighthouse of the province as they spend quite a lot of time for reflection, meditation and prayers for the intentions of the Province. Province is ever happy to welcome these young women and to form them in the likeness of Jesus the greatest formator. The intercession of Blessed Mother Mary and the beloved Founder will always help the formees to discern to make right choices. Praise be to God!
