On 31 August 1979, Novitiate house was opened in a rented house at Koramangala area, Bangalore in the presence of Sr. Gloria and Sr. Vincent Paul. Novices Mary Agnes, Philomena Kallarackal and Annu Nelliserry were the first batch in India. Mother Alberta Stango, Mother General and Sr. Mary Eugene, the General Councillor came from Rome, made the agreement and began the process for the purchase of land from Good Shepherd Sisters on 4 September.
Sr. Vincent Paul was the administrator, who contributed to the pioneering mission and looked after the construction of the building. In 1982, December 29th the first house in Bangalore was inaugurated as novitiate house under the Superiorship of Sr. Teresina Kunnath. The house was not fully ready except the walls and roof.
Sr. Motchapackiam Manickam was appointed as the first superior of the community in Bangalore. In 1993, first floor was built and started to be utilized for the administration purpose for delegation government then as Vice-Province and later in 2008 as Province. This was functioning as novitiate house until 2004.
On 1st November 2022, a new building was inaugurated by Sr. Motchapackiam Manickam, the Provincial Superior for the Provincial Residence with well-furnished office, archives and other amenities. This community is functioning as a separate entity from November 2022 onwards with Sr. Motchapackiam as the Superior of the Provincialate Community. The campus has four communities presently: St. John’s Convent, St. Joseph’s Villa, Mother Alberta Abode and CSJB Provincialate.
